VA 609/FDR 125 to US 220
7.9 miles, 3.3 miles Road walk, 0.6 mile paved
Parking
1. North end of section: From I-64 in Virginia Exit 16, take US 220 north 25.5 miles (Warm Springs), turn right on VA 39 and go about 6 miles, turn left on VA 609 (Dry Run Road) and go 1.8 miles. Pullover spot on east side of VA 609 0.1 mile north of intersection of FDR 1325.
2. Old Piney Mountain Trailhead: From 1., take FDR 1325 0.8 mile to "T", go right (FDR 465) and go 1.9 miles.
3. South end of section: From I-64 in Virginia Exit 16, take US 220 north 30 miles, just north of Muddy Creek on east side is a large pullover. This parking is 0.2 mile north of the intersection with VA 614, which is the north end of section.
Shuttle
North to south: Take VA 609 south 1.8 miles to VA 39, turn right and go about 6 miles to US 220, turn right and go 4.5 miles.
South to north: Take US 220 south 4.5 miles to VA 39, turn left and go 6 miles to VA 609 (Dry Run Road), turn left and go 1.8 miles.

Multi-use - Horses and mountain bikes are allowed. There is room for horse trailer turnaround on US 220 north of Muddy Run.
