Shanklins Ferry to Low Gap

Parking
1. “North” end of section: From I-77 Exit 9 in West Virginia, take US 460 east 14.6 miles to Rich Creek, VA, turn left on US 219 and go 2.0 miles (there was a right turn at 0.3 mile) to WV 12 in Peterstown, WV, turn left. Go 1.1 mile and turn left on CR 24, Bozoo Road. Go 4.7 miles to Bozoo and turn left on CR 24/3. In 0.7 mile, cross county line onto CR 23/6, Shanklins Ferry Road. Continue 2.5 more to Shanklins Ferry Camping area.
2. “South” end of section: From I-77 Exit 28, go to US 19, turn left (north) and go 6.5 miles to WV 3, turn right (east) and go 14.2 miles. Turn right at go 1.1 miles along with WV 20, then turn left with WV 3. Go 0.5 mile and turn right onto Cedar Street. Go about 0.1 mile and keep left on Hill Drive, then go about 0.2 mile and continue on CR 14, Zion Mountain Road. Continue 5.2 miles, then turn right on CR 14/3, Little Wolf Creek Road. Go 2.4 miles and turn left on Low Gap Church, then right onto CR 3/3, Seminole Road. Go 1.8 miles to Bertha Camping Area.
Shuttle (14.2 miles)
“North” to “South”: Turn around, go 1.2 miles, turn left on CR 23/5. Go 1.9 mile, bear right onto CR 23/4, Cedar Br. And go 0.8 mile. Cross CR 23 at an angle and take CR 33, Seminole Road 10.3 miles to Bertha Camping Area.
“South to “North”: Turn around, take Seminole Road 10.3 miles to CR 23. Cross at angle to get on CR 23/4, Cedar Br., go 0.8 mile and bear left onto CR 23/5. Go 1.9 miles, turn right on CR 23/6 Shanklins Ferry Crossing and go 1.2 miles to Shanklins Ferry Camping Area.

1.0 “Y” intersection. To left is playground and beach. Continue ahead.
2.1 Intersection of CR 23/5, ahead, and CR 23/5 to left. Keep left.
4.6 CR 23/4 goes left 1.1 miles to Cedar Branch Camping Area. Continue straight.
5.0 CR 23/7 to right; continue ahead.
5.4 CR 22 goes left 1.6 mile to Indian Creek Camping Area. Keep right, continuing on CR 33/2.
8.0 Bluestone WMA Headquarters to left.
8.6 Indian Mills Campground (Private).
9.0 Intersection with CR 33. Keep left with Seminole Road.
11.9 Church to right.
13.2 Intersection with CR 33/1. Keep left with Seminole Road.
14.5 Low Gap with Low Gap church building on right. CR 33 continues left 1.4 miles to Bluestone Retreat and 1.9 miles to Bertha Camping Area, CR 14/2 goes straight ahead, and CR 14/3 goes right. “South” end of section. Continue ahead on CR 14/2 into Section 1e.

0.0 Low Gap with intersection of CR 33 and CR 14/2. Take CR 33 (Seminole Road) away from Bertha.
1.3 Intersection with CR 33/1. Keep right on CR 33 /Seminole Road.
2.6 Church to left.
4.5 Keep right on CR 33/2.
4.9 Indian Mills Campground (private).
5.5 Bluestone WMA Headquarters to right.
9.1 CR 22 goes right 1.6 miles to Indian Creek Camping Area.
9.5 CR 23/7 to left, continue ahead.
9.9 CR 23/4 goes right 1.1 miles to Cedar Branch Camping Area. Continue straight.
12.4 Intersection with CR 23/6. Turn right, descending to Shanklins Ferry Camping Area.
13.5 “Y” intersection. Keep left.
13.6 Open gate, pavement ends.
14.0 Gated road to right.
14.5 Shanklins Ferry Camping Area on right. “North” end of section. GET continues ahead on gravel road into section 1c.
