Twin Falls Campground to Pineville

   1.    “North” end of section:  From I-77 & 64 Exit 42 take WV 16 south 3.6 miles to WV 54 and turn right.  Take WV 54 13.7 miles to WV 97 and turn right.  Take WV 97 2.0 miles, turn left on Poke Hollow Road and go 1.5 miles, turn sharp left on Smokey Ridge Road and go 1.7 miles to Campground and Picnic Area. 

   2.     “South” end of section:  From I-77 & 64 Exit 42 take WV 16 south 3.6 miles to WV 54 and turn right.  Take WV 54 13.7 miles to WV 97 and turn right.  Take WV 97 11.9 miles, turn left on WV 10 and go 0.3 miles to downtown Pineville.

   

 

Shuttle (10.2 miles)

 

“North” to “south”: Take Smokey Ridge Road back 1.7 miles to Poke Hollow Road, keep left and go 0.1 mile. Continue ahead on Bear Hole Road and go 2.3 miles and turn a sharp left toward Falls Trail parking. The road forks—keep right. Road exits the park and becomes CR 10/13. Go 1.1 mile to CR 4/4, Buckhannon Fork Road and turn left. Go 1.7 miles to WV 97 and turn left. Go 3.0 miles to intersection with WV 10 and turn left and go 0.3 mile to Pineville.

 

“South” to “north”: Take WV 10 north & WV 97 east 0.3 mile; turn right on WV 97. Go 3.0 miles to CR 4/4, Buckhannon Fork Road, and turn right. Go 1.7 miles to CR 10/13 and turn left. Go 1.1 mile, pass fork from right and turn sharp right on Bear Hole Road (Twin Falls Resort State Park entrance road). Take Bear Hole Road 2.3 mile and go straight on road to campground. Keep right after 0.1 to go to campground, and another 1.7 miles to Campground.

Trail Description, “North” to “South”

   0.0       Twin Falls Campground, elev. 2300’, “north” end of section. GET follows Hemlock Trail compass west.

   1.1       Trail forks. Take left fork (Falls Trail) and cross wet area.

   1.2       Trail forks. Take left fork (Falls Trail).

   1.3       Black Fork Falls to left.

   1.5       Marsh Fork Falls to left.

   1.6       Trail forks join. Continue ahead.

   1.8       Falls Trail Parking. Continue out paved road.

   2.0       Turn left onto paved road and cross Marsh Fork.

   2.3       Road exits Twin Falls Resort State Park becoming CR 10/13.

   3.1       Turn right on CR 4/4, Buckhannon Fork Road.

   4.8       Turn left on WV 97.

   5.9       Christian Fellowship Worship Center on right.

   7.8       Intersection of WV 97 (goes left) and WV 10 (left and right). Arby’s restaurant on left. Turn left on combined roads.

   7.9       Tudor’s Biscuit World restaurant on left.

   8.1       Pineville – Intersection of WV 97 & WV 10. “South” end of section. WV 10 goes south ahead while WV 97 goes west to right. GET follows WV 97 west through downtown Pineville.

    

    

 

Trail Description, “South” to “North”

   0.0       Pineville – Intersection of WV 97 & WV 10. “South” end of section. GET follows WV 97 east/WV 10 north.

   0.2       Tudor’s Biscuit World restaurant, on right.

   0.3       Intersection of WV 10 (goes straight) and WV 97 (turns right). Arby’s restaurant on right. Follow WV 97 east.

   2.2       Christian Fellowship Worship Center on left.

   3.3       Intersection with CR 4/4, Buckhannon Fork Road, to right. Follow CR 4/4.

   5.0       CR 4/4 ends on CR 10/13. Turn left on CR 10/13.

   5.8       Road enters Twin Falls Resort State Park.

   6.1       Cross Marsh Fork and make a sharp right on road to Falls Parking.

   6.3       Falls Trail Parking, elev. 1890’. Continue on Falls Trail.

   6.5       Where the trail forks, keep right.

   6.6       Marsh Fork Falls to right.

   6.8       Black Fork Falls to right.

   6.9       Falls Trail joins Nature Trail. Soon after trail forks—take right fork.

   7.0       Turn right on blue-blazed Hemlock Trail.

   8.1       Hemlock Trail ends at Twin Falls Campground. GET crosses Smokey Ridge Road at Campground. “North” end of section. GET continues across road into section 4a.
